Beading or lifted skirtings?
A floating floor needs an expansion gap at every wall, and something must cover it. Scotia beading is quick and cheap. Lifting the skirtings, fitting the floor underneath and refitting them gives a much cleaner line with no visible bead — it costs more in labour and decorating touch-ups, and in a period Fife property with deep skirtings it is usually worth it.
