The short answer
For most Fife kitchens, hallways and open-plan family rooms — LVT wins. It's waterproof, warm, quiet underfoot and the only sensible choice over underfloor heating (which most homes built in Duloch, Halbeath, Dalgety Bay and Glenrothes since 2010 have). Laminate is cheaper to buy and slightly tougher against deep scratches, so it still has a place in bedrooms, study rooms and rentals where waterproofing isn't the deciding factor.
