Can you move a fully loaded bookcase for me?

We'd ask that heavy loaded units are emptied first, as fitters can't safely lift them fully stocked.

Do I need to be home during the fitting?

Not necessarily, as long as we can access the property and you're reachable by phone if a decision is needed.

What if there's nowhere to park outside my house?

Let us know in advance so we can plan for a short carry or arrange alternative parking nearby.

Can you fit around my dog being in the house?

It's best if pets are kept in a separate room or elsewhere while tools and adhesives are in use.

Will you disconnect my washing machine to fit flooring in the kitchen?

No, appliance disconnection should be arranged separately before we start.

Furniture, parking and access: your part of the job

A fitting day runs to time largely because of things that have nothing to do with the flooring itself — a clear path from the front door, somewhere for the van to park, and furniture that's either out of the room or light enough for us to shift safely between rooms while we work.

What to sort out before we arrive

Clear ornaments, electronics and anything breakable
Empty full wardrobes and chests of drawers if they need moved
Take down curtains if they'll be in the way of skirting work
Arrange for pets to be elsewhere or securely out of the work area
Let us know about any parking restrictions near your property
Flag any particularly heavy items — pianos, fish tanks, gun cabinets

Where a lack of prep slows the job down

Rooms with a lot of loose belongings still in place take extra time to clear before fitting can even start, which eats into the working day and can mean a job runs later than planned. Blocked driveways or double-parked streets also cost time carrying materials in from further away than expected.

What we'll move and what we won't

We'll move sofas, beds, wardrobes, tables and similar standard furniture as part of the job. Built-in wardrobes, waterbeds, fitted appliances and anything requiring specialist disconnection — gas cookers, plumbed washing machines — need to be dealt with separately, either by yourself or a suitable tradesperson beforehand.

Parking in central Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy

Streets near Dunfermline town centre and around Kirkcaldy's Esplanade and High Street often have permit zones or limited waiting bays, so it's worth checking what applies outside your property and letting us know — a van parked a few streets away adds real time to carrying flooring rolls and tools in.
