What throws a timescale off
Unexpected subfloor issues found once old flooring is lifted are the most common cause of a job overrunning its estimate — a damp patch, unlevel screed or rotten timber section needs addressing before new flooring can go down, and that's not always visible until the old floor comes up. Adhesive and levelling compound drying times are also weather and heating dependent.

Jobs in tighter streets around central Dunfermline or Kirkcaldy can take a little longer purely due to carrying materials further from the van, and in exposed areas along the KY3 coast we sometimes build in a little extra drying allowance for adhesives given the higher ambient humidity.
