Getting the tone right for the room
A heavy white can look chalky under the cool, blue-tinted light common in north-facing Fife rooms. A soft grey-white or a limed finish usually sits better and does not fight warm furniture.
We leave sample boards in the room for a day or two so you can see them in morning, afternoon and lamplight before committing — this is the single most useful thing you can do before ordering a pale floor.
The maintenance detail people miss
A white-oiled floor must be maintained with a white maintenance oil. Using a clear oil gradually pulls the colour back towards natural oak, and the change is uneven where traffic is heaviest. We supply the correct product with the job and show you how to use it.
